ST Electronics wins S$7m Oman Bank contract

ST Electronics, the
electronics arm of ST Engineering, has won a contract worth about S$7m from
the Central Bank of Oman (CBO) to provide security enhancement services for
its headquarters and two branches in Oman.
The contract which is awarded to ST Electronics’ subsidiary, STET Homeland
Security Services, will commence immediately and is scheduled to be
completed within a year. ST Electronics will integrate all security devices
for centralised and effective security management of the Central Bank of
Oman.
The Central Bank of Oman is the sole national regulator of the financial
system in Oman as well as an advisor to the Government of the Sultanate of
Oman in national economic policies. With its headquarters located in Ruwi,
it has two branches in Salalah and Sohar in Oman.
“Security is an ever-changing and evolving activity in today’s world, and
organisations need to have effective centralised integrated security
solutions to protect themselves from ever growing exposures and threats.
There is a need for an integrated security solution, especially for CBO, as
it serves the finance sector, government and international institutions,”
said H.E. Hamood Sangour Al Zadjali, Executive President, Central Bank of
Oman.
STET Homeland Security Services is associated with the central bank for the
last two years. They started with providing the security consultancy to CBO
and now will be designing, supplying, and installing, testing and
commissioning the whole security management system.
