IDA, AITI sign MOU on ICT collaboration

The Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Authority for Info-Communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam (AITI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate on various aspects of ICT including the use of ICT in key economic sectors and cooperation on projects to be implemented by both agencies.

The scope of the MOU will include exchanging of information and experience on ICT matters. Both parties may identify ICT projects to collaborate on and ICT companies from both countries will be able to participate in these projects.

The MOU will strengthen ICT partnership between IDA and AITI, said IDA's Deputy Chief Executive, Leong Keng Thai.

“Both parties will gain tremendously from the sharing of experience in the area of ICT adoption in government and various economic sectors. The private sector will benefit from the implementation of projects under the MOU," he said.

Established on 1 January 2003 as an independent statutory body to regulate, license and develop the local ICT industry and manage the national radio frequency spectrum, the AITI of Brunei Darussalam dedicates itself to providing Brunei Darussalam with a dynamic, innovative and vibrant ICT industry, anticipative to the needs of the nation and responsive to the challenges of the information era.
