Underscoring the growing
awareness in Singapore to go green, Tandberg, a global provider of
telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile video solutions,
is working hand in hand together with the Singapore Environment Council
(SEC) and City Developments Limited (CDL) to promote a greener office
environment in the corporate sector.
In line with this, Singapore’s first Green Office, a fully-functional model
of a work station equipped with videoconferencing products and eco-friendly
features demonstrating simple tips and technologies businesses can leverage
to deliver measurable savings, was also unveiled.
“Converting Your Office into a Green Office” is the first of several joint
events between SEC, a non-profit organisation which nurtures, facilitates
and coordinates environmental causes and groups in Singapore, CDL, a private
property developer and Tandberg to raise awareness of the environment in the
business community.
According to a recent Tandberg/Ipsos MORI survey, more than half of global
consumers interviewed said they would prefer to purchase products and
services from a company with a good environmental reputation; and almost 80
per cent of global workers believe that working for an environmentally
ethical organisation is important.
Lars Ronning, President for Asia Pacific (excluding China & Japan),
Tandberg, said that responsible environmental behaviour is fast becoming a
strategic tool for businesses. “As more and more consumers and employees
make a conscious choice in favour of an environmentally ethical organisation,
the need to go green has never been greater.”
He added, “For enterprises, one of the keys to successful engagement in the
environmental movement is to identify and integrate workplace solutions that
deliver measurable savings and increased competitive advantage.”
Through “Converting your Office into a Green Office”, the organisers seek to
heighten the greening culture among corporations, as well as to inspire and
encourage the uptake of environment-friendly choices, habits and measures in
office premises.
The Green Office is scheduled to tour different office buildings next year. |
