Cloud services platform provider Parallels has launched a new programme aimed at lowering the barriers to entry for service providers wishing to take advantage of cloud services offered by Microsoft.

Parallels SmartStart provides support for the Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider programme which was announced on 15 July at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference. It is a low-cost, fixed-price implementation of the company’s cloud hosting and services delivery system Parallels Automation, and comes with user training and certification, reference service plans and a customised storefront.

According to Parallel, its SmartStart for Office 365 gets Microsoft-approved partners up and running in less than 80 days, and enables them to sell and deliver differentiated portfolios of hosted and syndicated services with every Office 365 subscription. Microsoft channel partners who deploy Parallels Automation will be immediately ready to offer new Microsoft cloud services as they become available.

SmartStart complements the existing services on Parallels Automation which include Windows Azure Pack, Microsoft Office 365 Syndication, Microsoft Lync 2013 Hosting Pack and Microsoft Exchange 2013.
