ShoreTel, a provider of phone systems and unified communications solutions has announced the opening of a logistics hub in Singapore to reduce delivery timeframes for all ShoreTel customers in Asia Pacific.

A significant milestone for ShoreTel Asia Pacific, the Singapore logistics hub will cater to ShoreTel’s growing Asia Pacific business, and serve its Asia Pacific channel community of systems integrators, business partners and distributors.

ShoreTel grew its new customer base in Singapore 38 percent year-on-year from 2013 to 2014, in line with the fast-growing unified communications market in Asia Pacific. According to IDC, the Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) market is expected to grow to US$659 million by 2018 in Asia Pacific excluding Japan (APeJ), at a five-year CAGR of 89 percent. The Unified Communications (UC) On-Premise Infrastructure market is expected to grow to US$3.9 billion in 2018 in APeJ, at a five-year compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.2 percent based on factory/vendor revenues.

“The impact of the opening of our logistics hub in Singapore to our local and global customers and partners is that we can now deliver within days to anywhere within Asia,” said Frédéric Gillant, Vice-President and Managing Director, Asia-Pacific at ShoreTel. “Unified communications is now finally a reality in the Singapore market but implementation can be challenging given the multiple technologies that make up UC. We want to best support our partners and customers in Asia Pacific – not only by providing integrated UC solutions that help them improve worker productivity and lower the cost of collaboration, but also ensuring fast delivery and deployment.”

This is part of ShoreTel’s continued investment in Asia Pacific, building on its 2014 expansion in the region, with the opening of ShoreTel India in Bangalore to provide sales, global support services, and research and development. ShoreTel also continued to invest in its channel partners with the launch of the revised Champion Partner Program worldwide to help partners go-to-market with its UC, mobility and contact centre solutions.
