Customers of Telstra
International will now be able to take full advantage of secure, high
capacity Ethernet connectivity across Asia, Australia, North America and
Europe with the introduction of Telstra’s Ethernet Private Line (EPL)
network service.
Telstra International is a global supplier of managed network services and a
division of the Australian-based, tier 1 telecommunications and media
services company, Telstra Corporation.
Based on secure, dedicated Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) technology,
Telstra’s Ethernet offers the privacy and reliability of private leased
lines, with improved scalability and flexibility.
Ethernet Private Lines extend well-established local area network (LAN)
technology to the wide area network (WAN), reducing the need for additional
investment in communications equipment, infrastructure and maintenance.
Telstra customers will be able to select from granular service speeds of
2mbps to 1000mbps according to network usage.
Greg Russell, Senior Vice President, Asia commented that Ethernet is a
technology that has already proven its worth within enterprises and is a
natural evolution to the wide area network as it supports converged voice,
data, video and internet services without the need for additional
infrastructure investment.
”Ethernet Private Lines offer a combination of a secure and reliable
service, along with low total cost of ownership and simple network
management, making them attractive to multinational companies looking to
implement a consistent and connected workplace,” he said.
To ensure the best possible service, Telstra International also offers 24x7
technical support and has developed a strong ecosystem of partners and
investments in over 50 cable systems worldwide.
“Telstra International is particularly strong in Asia thanks to our
extensive, high capacity cable network, which offers customers who are
considering a move into this region, an instant communications advantage,”
added Russell. “We are constantly building out our capabilities to ensure
that our EPL customers benefit from a SLA-supported global service that is
second to none in order to meet their business, compliance and expansion
requirements now and in the future.”
