Nuplex Industries, a
manufacturer of resins for coatings, adhesives, paper and composites, and a
distributor of a broad range of functional materials, has selected Verizon
Business to consolidate the management of its global data infrastructure.
The company will implement a fully managed Verizon Private IP solution to
connect its 30 key operational sites across Asia Pacific, Europe and the
United States.
Nuplex has expanded rapidly over recent years, and today employs nearly
1,700 people in 14 countries, with manufacturing plants in New Zealand,
Australia, Europe, Asia and North America.
As the company has grown, its network infrastructure had become increasingly
complex and costly to run. The number of disparate systems in place also
made it difficult for Nuplex to roll out new applications to support its
business objectives. The company therefore decided to consolidate its global
network infrastructure with a single provider to both optimise cost
efficiencies and provide a firm foundation for future growth.
Stuart Barry, CIO Nuplex Australia and New Zealand, said that using a single
global service provider is not only more cost-effective, it also allows us
to focus on our business, rather than our infrastructure.
“We chose to work with Verizon Business because of the company’s global
reach, strong regional focus and technical management capabilities. The
company demonstrated a clear understanding of our business needs, and
provided a best-fit solution that could support our objectives today and in
the future,” he said.
Verizon Business is a global provider of advanced communications and IT
solutions to large business and government customers worldwide. The fully
managed Verizon Private IP solution provides a secure, reliable, resilient
and scalable infrastructure for Nuplex’s business-critical communications.
It provides a high-quality voice and data communications environment to
support Nuplex’s communications needs as the company moves toward IP-enabled
applications.
With Private IP, Nuplex is able to prioritise its voice and data traffic to
optimise network performance, and Verizon Business’ stringent service level
agreements and reporting mechanisms provide real-time information on global
network status. Most importantly, as Verizon Business provides full
managed-services support, Nuplex is able to focus on its own business
objectives, rather than the complexities of network management.
Andrew Dobbins, regional vice president, Asia Pacific, Verizon Business,
said customers growing their business around the world are increasingly
demanding robust, secure network solutions that will deliver advanced
business-critical applications.
“Verizon Business has been able to implement an easily scalable solution to
support Nuplex’s growth, as well as provide greater visibility into network
performance.” |
