BI software company
Business Objects has announced the availability of Crystal Decisions
Professional Edition, a pre-optimised bundle of fully functional business
intelligence (BI) modules, for Singapore's rapidly growing mid-market organisations.
According to consulting firm Access Markets International (AMI) Partners,
many mid-tier companies (with 100 to 999 employees) in Singapore and across
the Asia Pacific region are discovering the need for deploying business
intelligence solutions in a bid to stay competitive.
SMEs require BI tools specifically tailored to their needs, which at the
same time are affordable and easy to deploy and operate within small and
less skilled IT departments.
Said V.R. Srivatsan, Vice President, South Asia, Business Objects, "Our
customers look to us to provide innovative solutions that are easy to
deploy, easy to use, and can deliver immediate value."
This new edition of the Business Objects Crystal Decisions suite offers the
benefits of data integration functionalities as well as intelligent
reporting, ad hoc query and analysis, and dashboards capabilities, to
address specific SME requirements, like web reporting and data integration
from multiple sources.
The data integration feature, which provides the ability to extract data
from different database types that include Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2,
Oracle, Ingres, and integrate that data into a single target source, is
especially critical for small and mid-sized companies that need to integrate
their business intelligence functionality across multiple data sources.
Another key element of the new offering is an SME-friendly concurrent user
licensing scheme. "This means that a 100-user company can buy 20 concurrent
licenses optimised to their usage patterns, instead of having to buy a 100,"
said Srivatsan. |
