The Continental Automotive
Group has commissioned T-Systems to merge and operate its entire SAP
environment, including its operations in Singapore. T-Systems operates
information and communications technology (ICT) for multinational
corporations and public institutions, and currently provides ICT services to
Brenntag, Shell and Continental in Singapore.
In future, the global automotive supplier will pay only for the computer and
storage capacity it actually uses. In addition, the agreement does not
envisage any minimum acceptance or fixed term, which will allow Continental
to reduce operating costs while greatly improving the flexibility of its
business model.
“We have agreed an outsourcing deal with T-Systems that will reduce costs
and at the same time provide extreme flexibility,” said Dr. Ralf Brunken,
CIO of Continental Automotive Group.
Throughout the world, companies are increasingly demanding flexible
contracts, which provide and charge for a service depending on the course of
business. “This project is taking us a step further down that road. For the
first time, the duration of the project depends entirely on the quality of
our services and the benefits for our customers,” said T-Systems boss
Reinhard Clemens.
With more than 55,000 users worldwide, around a million units in SAP
Application Performance Standard and a required storage capacity of 250
terabytes, it is one of the largest SAP projects of T-Systems to date
anywhere in the world. |
