Regional information technology and communications engineering service provider NCS Group has been awarded a three-year contract from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Singapore (MFA) to develop, operate and market the MFA portal and call centre.

The portal aims to be a key one-stop information and service resource for both Singaporeans and foreigners. Besides offering consular services and information, the yet to be named portal will feature content on lifestyle issues and initiatives of interest to the public.

NCS and MFA are also working together to explore the use of Web 2.0 technologies to further add to the dynamism of the portal and enhance the user experience.

Lim Eng, CEO, NCS Group said the lifestyle needs of an individual today involve services from both government and private sectors. This is an excellent project that showcases the partnership between these two sectors. NCS, he said, will leverage on innovative technologies and platforms to provide useful information and e-services, and inject commercial offerings to bring added value to the online community.

The new MFA Portal will be developed and managed by NCS Group’s Portal City business unit. NCS Portal City provides end-to-end portal infrastructure and managed services from conceptualisation, design, development, hosting to marketing.
