Global inspection,
verification, testing and certification company SGS and CrimsonLogic, a
Singapore-based eGovernment solutions provider, have announced the
successful launch of GasyNet, the first electronic documentation system for
trade facilitation in Madagascar.
SGS, using CrimsonLogic technology, has partnered with the Madagascar
Government to build, operate and maintain a Single Window system under the
umbrella of a joint venture company named GasyNet.
GasyNet is a single-window nationwide trade facilitation service that
automates customs clearance by integrating the functions and requirements of
controlling agencies to enable importers, exporters and customs brokers to
apply for and receive trade permits and licences within minutes.
By connecting the various parties together, processes are streamlined for
faster turnaround, and there are greater savings in time and financial
resources.
SGS will run GasyNet operations in Madagascar, while CrimsonLogic provides
the technology to develop, implement and maintain the system.
Fred Herren, Executive Vice President of SGS said SGS in partnership with
CrimsonLogic have become lead players in the design, development and
deployment of Single Window solutions. The combined strength of both
companies ensures the best there is in terms of providing sustainable trade
facilitation solutions using proven technology on a global basis.
“With GasyNet, Madagascar is becoming a reference in the region in terms of
Single Window operations," he said. |
