Nothacker, a
Singapore-based Software as a Service (SaaS) provider and Agency for
Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) spin-off company, has officially
signed up as a Service Provider Licensing Program (SPLA) partner of
Microsoft to offer SaaS solutions in the Asia Pacific market. Nothacker is
also actively pursuing the next stage of their relationship with Microsoft
to become one of the first ISVs in the Asia Pacific region to participate in
the SaaS Incubation Centre Program.
Nothacker will deploy Microsoft Solution for Windows-based Hosting for
Applications, which will equip the company with techniques and best
practices to design service-enabled software applications, as well as
facilitate user provisioning, performance monitoring, usage tracking and
reporting. This will allow Nothacker to provide strong service level
agreements (SLA) to end users, which is a critical component of online
service-based delivery, to support Nothacker's suite of back-office
applications known as LiveSME.
Nothacker's LiveSME raises enterprise productivity by automating business
operations from payroll to customer order administration. It helps customers
decrease the time spent on manual operations and automates organisational
workflow, thereby increasing a company's business capacity and value.
Powered by Microsoft Solution for Windows-based Hosting for Applications and
advanced text analytics and security technologies from A*STAR, and coupled
with the business benefits that LiveSME brings, Nothacker sets to make SaaS
an ubiquitous yet secure way of business that boosts productivity.
"Our value proposition to our clients is grounded on Microsoft's tested
platforms that drive innovation, and A*STAR's advanced infocomm research and
development. These anchors allow us to design and develop exciting
Software-as-a-Service solutions for the business community”, said Lim Chinn
Hwa, the managing director of Nothacker.
"SaaS is driving the business side of the Web 2.0 revolution, with IDC
projecting that subscription-based software sales revenue is expected to
make up a third of the total software market by 2009. Exploit Technologies
works closely with companies like Nothacker to tap upon A*STAR's
technologies to develop compelling SaaS applications for the international
marketplace", said Boon Swan Foo, the executive chairman of Exploit
Technologies, the strategic marketing and commercialisation arm of A*STAR,
and Chairman of Nothacker.
Affirming the potential value of SaaS for SMEs, Chan Yeng Kit, chief
executive officer, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) said,
"The SaaS software delivery model has good potential to help SMEs increase
productivity and sharpen their competitive edge in an increasingly
globalised markets. In the Digital Age, where the innovative use of infocomm
technology will be a key differentiator for many businesses, SMEs cannot
afford not to level up their infocomm usage and sophistication." |
