QuestNet, which provides an
e-commerce platform to more than 5 million sellers of consumer goods
worldwide, has selected communications and IT solutions provider Verizon
Business and managed services company Akamai Technologies to enhance the
performance and security of the company’s expanding portfolio of online
services.
Malick Aboobakar, CIO, QuestNet, commented, “As our network grows, so too do
the demands on our IT infrastructure, which is critical in supporting our
entrepreneurs’ business transactions. Our customers need to know that we are
doing everything we can to support their business. We know that their
reputation is reliant in no small measure on our services. We therefore
turned to Verizon Business and Akamai Technologies because these companies’
unique and integrated set of solutions, professional services, security and
networking expertise made them ideal partners.”
As part of a 12-month consultancy, Verizon Business’ professional services
team conducted a full audit of the Hong Kong-based company’s infrastructure.
The agreement also calls for Verizon Business to support QuestNet sites in
Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, and Thailand.
David Kim, Verizon Business area vice president for North Asia said
organisations like QuestNet, which are entirely focused around meeting the
needs of their customers, are increasingly turning to third-party experts to
help support their business aims. Verizon, he said, “has worked closely with
the company to really understand its operations, which is critical to
ensuring we can deliver the best solutions”.
Verizon Business has developed solutions in two areas of key interest to
QuestNet and its customers: application performance and security. To improve
application performance, Akamai’s Web Application Acceleration solution
makes access to business-critical applications easier and more efficient. To
address information security, governance, risk and compliance issues, the
Verizon Security Management Programme provides QuestNet with a structured
approach to optimise its overall security posture.
The overall benefit for the QuestNet community is improved productivity,
enhanced security, and lower IT costs across the board. QuestNet itself is
able to benefit from enhanced performance and security, as well as an
infrastructure that can accommodate future growth. |
