Check Point Software
Technologies, the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, will add
security controls for over 50,000 Web 2.0 widgets and more than 4,500
Internet applications. The addition is a result of the acquisition of the
industry's most comprehensive application classification and signature
database from FaceTime Communications.
New developments from Check Point combined with the acquired technologies
will provide businesses unparalleled granular control over application usage
and enable security administrators to prevent threats associated with the
use of certain Internet applications. Check Point will offer this new level
of security controls as a Software Blade that will be available for all
gateways.
Said Gil Shwed, chairman and chief executive officer at Check Point, "As the
Internet and its use evolved, Check Point has ensured businesses remain
securely connected. This granular application control will enable better use
of Web 2.0 technologies safely and securely."
"We are continuing to re-invent the Internet firewall," continued Shwed.
"Adding the world's largest application classification database is a natural
extension of our Software Blade architecture, demonstrating the power of our
architecture and solution."
Pricing and availability for this new software blade will be announced soon
in 2010. |
