Trend Micro, a global
provider of Internet content and dynamic data centre security, has partnered
with Wipro Technologies, the global IT services business of Wipro, to offer
next-generation virtualisation security solutions for dynamic data centres.
As part of this strategic agreement, Wipro and Trend Micro are jointly
building Centres of Excellence to address the challenging data protection,
security and compliance needs of today's virtualised data centres, as well
as the growing market demand for server consolidation.
With access to combined Wipro and Trend Micro expertise at these Centres of
Excellence around the globe, including the US, UK, Australia and Japan,
enterprises will be able to better focus on their core business
competencies.
“Most data centres are employing virtualisation technology these days. But
without a virtualisation security strategy, these dynamic data centres are
less secure than their physical counterparts,” said Wael Mohamed, senior
vice president of business development, Trend Micro.
“We have entered into a strategic relationship with Wipro for their global
expertise in technology services. This agreement allows us to create
‘security that fits’—customisable, scalable solutions that enable
enterprises to protect confidential data and take advantage of the benefits
of virtualisation and cloud computing without compromising the security of
their dynamic data centres.”
Wipro and Trend Micro will provide joint virtualised data centre security,
as well as data centre consolidation solutions using next-generation
security products from Trend Micro and other mutual partners. This
initiative will align with current services from Wipro such as data
security, managed security monitoring, managed network and host
infrastructure security operations, and managed unified threat and
vulnerability managed services.
Under the agreement, Wipro becomes a global reseller of Trend Micro products
that encompass threat management, Web, messaging, server and endpoint
security.
“By working closely with Trend Micro, we’ll be better able to address the
operational security requirements of our data centre customers, and meet
their business demands for efficiency and cost savings,” said Prasenjit Saha,
vice president and global head of enterprise security solutions at Wipro.
“Wipro’s leadership in providing end-to-end security services combined with
Trend Micro’s advanced host and virtualisation security solutions for data
centre security requirements will help customers to better protect their
critical data, as well as ensure compliance with PCI and other regulations,”
said Saha. |
