Quest Software, the provider of application, database and Windows management solutions, has announced the newest version of Quest Reporter, which enables IT organisations to collect, compare, report on and resolve Active Directory and Windows-based configuration issues.
Version 6.0 introduces a new optional module, known as Reporter Configuration Baselining that allows IT to perform automated comparisons against ideal baselines, helping organisations better understand their current environment compared to industry standards, best practices and internal policies.
"In many organisations,
compliance is being driven from the C-level as a business requirement rather
than an IT project," said Jackson Shaw, Senior Director, Product Management,
Quest Software.
"If an administrator is asked
whether the environment is secure, it is no longer good enough to just say
'yes'. That information needs to be readily available and accurate.
Organisations using Reporter have the ability to automate the multiple tasks
that need to occur when verifying current Active Directory and Windows
configurations, and now IT administrators can compare these configurations
to an ideal baseline," he said.
Quest Reporter offers hundreds of predefined reports to help organisations better understand their environment, and now it adds the ability to compare that environment with industry security configuration standards such as Center for Internet Security (CIS) Benchmarks and Microsoft Security Best Practices.
Version 6.0 of Quest Reporter is expected to be available next week, with local pricing beginning at
$20 per enabled user and an additional $10 per enabled user for the Configuration Baselining module.
