Irdeto expands Asia Pacific
operations with new Singapore office

Content security company Irdeto, which provides solutions for digital TV, IPTV and mobile, is broadening its presence in the Asia Pacific market with the opening of a new office in Singapore.
The Singapore office, which opens this month, will serve as the sales and marketing hub for the Asia Pacific, supporting regional sales activities in the areas of DVB and mobile TV.
"The Singapore office underscores Irdeto's commitment to South East Asia and the global operations we are developing to better serve our growing number of partners and customers," said Graham Kill, Chief Executive Officer of Irdeto.
The opening of the Singapore office will be held in tandem with Irdeto's return to CommunicAsia for the third straight year. Irdeto plans to leverage on the region's premier technology event to reinforce its presence in emerging markets such as the Philippines, Pakistan, China and India, as well as more established ones such as South Korea.
Irdeto currently has a large
Beijing facility, as well as regional offices in South Korea, Australia,
Thailand and India. With the new Singapore office, it will have a total of
13 offices worldwide.
According to a new study by
Media Partners Asia, the combined annual revenues of pay-TV and broadband
businesses in Asia are predicted to jump from US$44 billion to US$102
billion by 2015. Total pay-TV customers, which reached 255 million last
year, will climb to 381 million by 2011 and 446 million by 2015, and the
number of digital pay TV subscribers is projected to rocket from 27.6
million to 146.5 million in 2011 and 219 million by 2015.
