Brocade adds high performance switch to HP B-Series

Networked storage solutions provider Brocade has added the 4 Gb/sec Brocade 5000 Switch to the HP B-Series portfolio of networked storage solutions.

The Brocade 5000 offers enterprise-class capabilities and performance and is suitable for departmental SANs or core-edge enterprise SANs. Packaged in a compact 1U form factor with Ports on Demand capabilities to enable scaling from 16 to 24 or 32 ports, the 4 Gb/sec switch allows non-disruptive expansion of existing SAN fabrics with existing management tools that enhance fabric-wide performance.

Additionally, the Brocade 5000 switch delivers energy-efficient solutions and is ideal for reducing power and cooling requirements, as well as ongoing operational costs.

The new Brocade 5000 switch is part of the HP B-Series portfolio and is customised by HP and sold as the HP StorageWorks 4/32B SAN Switch.

Currently available for customer shipment, the HP B-Series portfolio also includes the Brocade 48000 Director, Brocade 4100 Switch, Brocade 200E Switch and multiple custom embedded SAN solutions.
