Enterprise management
solutions company BMC Software and storage and data management solutions
company NetApp, have announced a new strategic partnership that delivers
server, network and storage provisioning and management for cloud
environments.
This new partnership gives mutual BMC and NetApp customers the benefit of a
fully automated end-to-end cloud infrastructure beginning with the initial
service request to provisioning, deployment, management and decommissioning.
Automating these processes enables customers to save time and money, reduces
compliance risk and helps IT organisations stay focused on meeting the needs
of the business.
The benefits of cloud computing – improved business agility, the convenience
of self-service and reduced equipment costs – are well documented, but they
can only be reached with a comprehensive management strategy that reduces
risk and drives compliance.
"We see cloud computing as a natural evolution of the data centre, so it’s
important that customers are able to move to that environment at their own
pace,” said Kia Behnia, chief technology officer at BMC Software.
"Our alliance with NetApp, coupled with our close collaboration with mutual
customers to understand their business priorities, has delivered an
integrated, fully automated offering that simplifies the transition from
virtual to cloud environment," he added.
BMC and NetApp integrated solutions, which include BMC Service Request
Management, BMC Configuration Automation for Networks, BMC ProactiveNet
Performance Management, BMC Atrium Orchestrator, along with NetApp
Provisioning Manager and NetApp SANscreen will help customers recognise
these benefits.
This new alliance between both companies, said Patrick Rogers, vice
president of Solutions Marketing for NetApp, “is an important step toward
helping our customers recognise the reduced costs and increased flexibility
associated with cloud computing”. |
