Fujitsu Asia, the regional IT and communications solutions provider, has announced the ETERNUS2000 disk array storage system for the Asean markets.

Comprising two models (Model200 and Model100), the ETERNUS2000 is an entry-level storage area network (SAN) solution that offers enterprise-class performance to meet the needs of large enterprises as well as small- and medium-sized businesses.

The Model200 and Model100 offer maximum storage capacities of 54 terabytes (TB) and 18TB respectively. Large cache sizes of 4 gigabytes (GB) and 2GB respectively also ensure that the systems' performance remains high even as usage levels are scaled up.

The systems also support Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) hard disk drives (HDDs) with a maximum spindle speed of 15,000 revolutions per minute (rpm), or Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) HDDs rated at 7,200 rpm or lower.

Engineered with a fibre channel host interface with a maximum throughput of 4 gigabits per second (Gbps), the ETERNUS2000 is compatible with the Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems, and supports Fujitsu’s PrimeQuest, Primergy and SPARC Enterprise server lines as well as various server lines by other vendors.

The Model200 and Model100 are priced starting at US$11,000 and US$8,000 respectively. Both models will be available for the Asean markets from end-August.
