Quest Software has
announced its entry into Microsoft SharePoint application development with
Quest Development Studio for SharePoint (formerly Workplace Architects
Developer Suite).
The newest addition to Quest's SharePoint solutions is the result of Quest's
recent acquisition of Workplace Architects' assets.
Development Studio for SharePoint makes SharePoint data readily available to
employees by building applications in SharePoint with configurable Web
parts. The drag-drop-configure Web parts technology allows these customised
applications to be built and maintained by business analysts, dramatically
reducing development costs and creating a better integrated collaboration
environment for users.
"This addition to our product portfolio demonstrates Quest's continuing
commitment to the SharePoint platform," said David Waugh, vice president, SharePoint Solutions, Quest Software.
In 2006, the company introduced Quest Site Administrator for SharePoint,
Quest Public Folder Migrator for SharePoint, Quest Recovery Manager for
SharePoint and Quest Discovery Wizard for SharePoint freeware. All of these
products now support Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 and
Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services v3.
Version 3.0 of Quest Development Studio for SharePoint is available from
S$30,000 per Web server. |
