Emerson Network Power, a
business of Emerson and the global leader in enabling business-critical
continuity, has strengthened its data centre infrastructure management
portfolio with the completion of its acquisition of Avocent.
“This addition allows us to combine physical infrastructure and IT device
knowledge to give Emerson Network Power the most comprehensive
infrastructure management solution on the market and a set of capabilities
previously unavailable from any single source,” said Ed Feeney, Emerson
executive vice president, and business leader of Emerson Network Power.
Avocent’s technologies and solutions provide additional visibility into the
data centre infrastructure, bolstering Emerson Network Power’s
infrastructure management capabilities and ultimately giving data centre
managers better control of energy consumption, IT operations and costs.
“Combining Avocent's technologies with our own data centre power, cooling
and infrastructure management solutions will allow us to help our customers
better manage reliability, availability and lifecycle costs through a simple
yet comprehensive view of the complete data centre physical infrastructure,"
added Feeney.
Headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, Avocent's infrastructure management
technology is recognised as a leader in managing IT device operations and
performance information, blending hardware, software and embedded
technologies in a unified platform that simplifies monitoring, managing and
problem solving in any size data centre. By improving visibility and access
across a wide range of physical infrastructure, Avocent technologies
complement Emerson Network Power's existing power, precision cooling and
monitoring solutions. |
