Emerson Network Power, a
business of Emerson and global leader in enabling Business-Critical
Continuity, boosts its data centre efficiency services in Asia Pacific with
a data centre audit program.
The program is a half-day audit where Emerson Network Power’ data centre
experts provide a detailed analysis of the current data centre
infrastructure and offer a comparison with industry best practices.
“Data centre managers face an uphill struggle in maintaining and monitoring
their data centres. Effective cooling, power management and space are
requirements for a healthy data centre and as it grows to accommodate
operational requirements, the optimal efficiency of data centres becomes
more difficult to achieve,” says Nilzon Villanueva, channel product services
manager for Emerson Network Power in Asia.
As the data centre is expanded, improper planning can lead to critical
pitfalls such as hot spots, excessive energy costs, power management issues
or power outages.
“The data centre audit offers an objective insight into the status and
health of data centre infrastructure. We aim to highlight opportunities to
improve availability and efficiency and impart best practices in the design,
management and operation of data centre infrastructure,” adds Villanueva.
As a part of the program, Emerson Network Power data centre experts will
assess data centre performance in five categories: cooling, power, service,
racks and security. The output would be a report of findings and
recommendations that will help customers and partners better understand
their current data centre infrastructure and plan for future changes to
manage IT demand growth. This detailed report also includes an easy-to-read
‘green-amber-red’ stoplight system, which compares different elements of the
computer room against 50 industry-standard best practices. |
