APC, a global provider of integrated critical power and cooling services, has launched a suite of comprehensive assessment services targeted at data centres to help evaluate and determine the health status of the energy efficiency of the existing infrastructure. This provides a structured framework for organisations to make informed strategic decisions with the planning and design of these centres.

"Poorly designed power and environmental facilities can have a major impact on the day-to-day operation and overall life expectancy of your data centre's physical infrastructure," explains George Kong, ASEAN Vice President, APC. "With assessment services you get an analysis of your current power and cooling capacity and utilisation, with recommendations on optimising your current data centre infrastructure."

"The information is critical when developing plans for future growth or consolidation. An optimised design increases performance, extends the life of your hardware, and ensures a higher level of network availability," he added.

APC’s range of assessment services can help companies save energy costs by up to 30 per cent and future-proof their hardware investments. Service offering includes: Data Centre Power and Cooling Assessment; Data Centre Electrical Efficiency Assessment; Data Centre Cooling Analysis using computational fluid dynamics; Data Centre Thermography Assessment; Blade Server Readiness Assessment; and Data Centre Circuit Tracing.
