Sun Microsystems has announced enhancements to the Sun Partner Advantage (SPA) Program's Partner Growth Fund (PGF) that will provide additional resources to stimulate growth for Sun's highly aligned partners in Asia Pacific (excluding China and India).

The new PGF will include a Demand Generation programme, which will enable partners to reach out to new customers and drive volume business. A central, APAC-wide online tool has also been created to give partners a comprehensive programme architecture to manage all transactions and approvals as well as resources available to them.

Said Lionel Lim, president, Asia Pacific, Sun Microsystems, “With the enhancements to the Partner Growth Fund, Sun will allocate approximately 70 per cent of our investment in helping partners drive demand and boost volume growth, and around 30 per cent in demonstration equipment.”

The pioneering PGF was introduced in 2007 to provide funding for demonstration equipment purchases and to empower Sun SPA Programme partners to showcase the latest Sun technology and solutions to their customers. The new Demand Generation programme enables partners to create customised marketing programmes and campaigns to further extend their market reach, acquire new customers across the region, and increase Sun's growth in the volume space with Windows-based servers.
